What is Sublimation?    back to top
Sublimation is the process of transfering specially designed inks to metals, ceramics, polyesters, reinforced plastics, etc. The ink used in sublimation is unique in its ability to convert from a solid to a gas without going through a liquid form. (Just like dry ice.) The conversion is initiated by heat and controlled with pressure and time. Materials such as ceramics (mugs, tiles, ornaments) are treated with a special coating to receive this ink. The heating process opens the pores of the recieving material so that the inks may penetrate the item and incorporate with it. Sublimation is a permanent solution to transfering images to selected products. Just like any color product and recieiving materials, careful handling and care must be followed. Please see the care instructions in the preceding column.

What is chromablast?    back to top
Chromablast is a unique ink that creates a chemical bond between the ink and the material. When the printer image is applied to the t-shirt with heat, the printed area literally cross links into the cotton molecules. This crosslink is a very strong bond and creates a nearly permanent bond. The image area is literally tattooed into the shirt itself. The area around the image has a very light feel that becomes nearly invisible after one wash. The result is a vibrant colorful image on the garment that looks, feels and breathes like nothing else in the market.

How do I wash my printed fabrics?    back to top
All of our fabric products may be washed in cold water using standard detergents. We recommend washing all your image wear inside out. This preserves the texture of your fabric as well as the image stability. We recommend air drying, however, if you must use a dryer, we recommend setting the dryer to a lower heat setting such as delicate.
Premium Totes should be spot cleaned only. Although the factory feels it is safe to wash in cold water, we have had some reports of minor bleeding from the cotton canvas and handles. While it may be possible to wash without incident, we recommend spot cleaning wherever possible to avoid problems.
Mouse pads or other fabric covered neoprene should be spot cleaned using traditional spot remover for fabrics. We do not recommend putting neoprene in the washer or dryer!
Lens cloth may be machine washed along with other color fabrics and may be machine dried.
